A besieged city of Arcasia beneath a pale sun, smoke rising over its ruined streets

Chapter I

The Region

It is devastated by war for centuries and home to many vital resources.  A world that exists out of two worlds with opposite philosophies.

Arcasia - Every being is born with the right to choose their destiny.

Aisacra - Power determines who decides to choose.

GEOGRAPHY

The shape of the land

The map depicts the area as a large, varied landscapes surrounded by sea, with several very distinct geographical regions.

  • Northern region is dominated by a vast, hostile volcanic region. Much of the land is blackened and covered in glowing red-orange lava flows. It was the first region invaded by dark powers, and has since evolved into uninhabitable land.
  • A massive mountain range runs roughly from the north toward the center and southeast, creating a natural divide across the region. The mountains are full of Krääz Minerals and vital for the prosperity of Ais.
  • Central land consists mostly of broad grasslands, plains, forests, and hills. It was the most fertile and habitable part of the region, with large settlements, huge areas of agriculture and a living nature. The area was mostly destroyed by major wars and huge battles.
  • The western regions have slight forest, but surrounded by numerous rivers, lakes, wetlands, and smaller islands. The coastline was known to have many bays and harbors.
  • The eastern coast was never urbanized or touched by humans. It existed out of large forests, plains, beautiful coastal areas, two huge mountains, and several bays and peninsulas. It was mostly visited by religious humans who worshipped their god, until it got utterly destroyed in the last war.
  • Southern land has a mixed landscape of plains, bays, and mountains. It is a divided land that has a lower fertility, whereas the mountains provide the minerals named Myral, which formed the foundation of the old civilization. It is currently nothing more than a region inhabited by many humans that life free, but in a primitive form. Many of these humans still remember the old days of Arca, and even use it for personal identity.

Mythology

The Two Suns

Before land started growing, water was born, light was created and darkness escaped, the world was watched by two ancient powers. These ancient powers were observed as "The Blue Sun" and "The Red Sun".

Many beings believe that they are gods and should be respected by all. Others believe that they are forces beyond understanding, and therefore should be left alone. Their names have been rewritten countless times, but their influence and presence remains strong in the history of Arcasia and Aisacra.

The Blue Sun

The Blue Sun is known as Löras and is the ancient god of hope, life, and freedom.

Its cold blue light is said to carry the memory of the first dawn. Where its light reaches, life flourishes, courage awakens, and those who have lost their way may find the strength to rise again.

The Blue Sun does not command its followers. It offers them a choice. Its greatest gift is free will — the power to choose one's own path, even in the face of fear, suffering, or death.

Throughout history, those who fought for freedom have looked toward the Blue Sun before battle. Warriors speak of its light appearing through the clouds at the moment when hope seems lost.

But the Blue Sun is not a god of peace alone. It represents the belief that something worth protecting is worth fighting for, no matter the cost.

The power of Löras is present in the form of Myral Chrystal, which can be extracted from mountains. In ancient myths, these chrystals were used for weapons, armour and even magic.

The Red Sun

The Red Sun is knows as Gärääs and is the ancient god of destruction, domination, and despair.

Its crimson light is said to have appeared when the first blood was spilled upon Arcasia.

Where the Red Sun shines, ambition turns into obsession, strength becomes tyranny, and fear becomes a weapon. Its followers believe that freedom is an illusion and that only those powerful enough to rule deserve to determine the fate of others.

Unlike Löras, Gärääs does not offer choice. It offers power to those willing to surrender their freedom. It promises strength, immortality, and dominion over those who refuse to submit.

Its influence has inspired Ais to conquer, and use their armies to destroy, and enslave entire Races.

Gärääs does not simply represent evil as an absolute power. It represents a darker energy, which exists in every living being. It is the desire of all to become succesfull and achieve their own ambitions.

The desire for success exists within every living being. It is only the question about how far one wants to go for personal success.

The power of Gärääs is present in the form of Krääz Minerals, which can be extracted from caves deep under certain mountains. This chrystals provide power to the ones that give up their freedom.

The Eternal Conflict

The two Suns have watched the world for longer than any living being can remember. One gives people the freedom to choose.  The other promises them the power to choose for everyone else.

Their conflict is fought through the choices of beings on the world of Arcasia and Aisacra. And when the Suns appear in the sky, the races of Arcasia know that something will happen, something that will change the future of the world itself.

There is an ancient myth  that one day, the final choice will be made by both ancient powers and direct intervention will become a hard reality.
